Snippet Sunday: A Flight From Hell

Picking up a bit from where we left off last week in our manuscript, we have Dana's complaints as Gabriel and Chloe pick up her, Olivia, and Rachel at the airport in St. Louis.

"This was the worst flight I've ever been on," Dana said as they all walked through the busy concourse, the flight from New York having had arrived safely.
Chloe laughed. "You say that after every flight." She looked at Gabriel. "Didn't I tell you?" He nodded, smiling.
"I was seated next to a guy who looked like a terrorist and had a voice like Wally Cox."
"Wally--who?" Chloe asked.
Dana shot her a look. "Oh, come on, Chloe--you're not that much younger than me!”
Olivia spoke up. "He was a bit of a character," she confirmed.
"I heard him say something about vomiting," Rachel recalled.
Chloe looked to Gabriel again. He leaned close and whispered, "It's going to be a long night."

  1. I based these scenes on a flight I once took to New York with a fellow author. I wish I'd had some duct tape!

  2. I know that feeling of being stuck on a flight with... interesting people. Well-captured scene.
